The Friar swim team was back last Wednesday night as they traveled to Greenhill to compete against the Hornets as well as Denton Calvary and fellow TAPPS competitor Parish Episcopal.
Short on their usual number of swimmers, the coaching staff challenged the Friars to swim events and relays other than their usual and the team stepped up to that challenge. The men's swim team was able to take down all three of their competitors, the closest being a victory over Greenhill with a score of 86-76. The women's swim team won two out of their three, only losing to Greenhill with a score of 81-72. The men's swim team moves to 7-1 on the year while the women's team move to 6-2.
A tip of the swim cap goes out to senior Ash Duy, who took first place in both of his heats in the 50 and 100 freestyle. A tip of the swim cap goes to freshman Erika De La Rosa for her lifetime best swim in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:51.04. Finally, a tip of the swim cap goes to freshman Ethan Hull, who went a lifetime best in the 100 freestyle as well as stepping up as a last-second replacement in the 400 freestyle relay.
